The Brue Boys
A Choir for Men who want to sing!
How to join the Brue Boys
We invite men of all ages who want to sing, and enjoy the convivial company of others, to join us.
There is no joining fee, and you can choose to try us out to begin with ~
if you decide to join us we pay £50 a year in September, but if you join later subs. will be pro-rata.
We sing songs up to four (or occasionally five) parts.
Sometimes new members, who have done no previous formal singing (and don't know if they're tenor, baritone or bass),
try one week with the baritones, then move up or down as they think fit.
There is no audition, but we hope you will get the hang of it and be able to sing in tune!
We give basic tuition in reading music, and many Brue Boys are learning this skill for the first time.
A good way to start, if you don't want to take the plunge and come along to a practice, is to talk to a Brue Boy with a similar experience or background, (email Jennifer Westcott on firstname.lastname@example.org for a contact telephone).
Or better still, come along to our next concert.
Most new boys watch us and know they would be comfortable with our style of singing.
Of course we welcome experienced and accomplished singers.
Several Boys have wide experience in choral work.
